I'm am being dead serious when I say you better NOT have alot of mistakes in your posts then, because since you don't want to follow my very simple rule, then yeah I will as you say it "boot" you. and have you read all 4,500+ posts? Also the reason you are able to understand most posts is because most of the members use the spell check.

Also NO, I will not stop being picky, that is my job as being the admin and owner. But I guess you have no idea what it takes to run a site like this one. I just can't believe you come on this thread after you see everyone else on here agreeing to abide by the rule.

You know, had you read the damn thread or even the whole original post, you would see I am not looking for perfection, just an effort. Before you came along we had some members that had posts that were unreadable. What a way for a new member with less than 20 posts, to make a first impression to the owner of the site, who works his ass off for the site, by calling out a mistake he made, way to go.

Hi Epoman.  I for one know from experience that not everyone is perfect, including you.  I see in a lot of these posts, the constant back and forth bashing about spelling and grammer checking and I just wanted to point out that fact that not everyone on these forums speaks English as their first language or spells everything as the US English dictionary suggests.  For example, Canadians spell the word color as colour and your spell checker may check that is wrong.  Or it may not.  I don't know.  But I can understand why you want people to double check their posts before posting for professionalism and ease of reading but I think you need to have some leniency to the above fact.  I'm not trying to bash you, im just suggesting that you ease up just a little.

I hate that I have to waste my time explaining myself to someone how I wish to run my site but here goes. Again, I just want members to try, can you understand that? If you read EVERY post on this entire site, I have never spoke to ANYONE about spelling variations, and I am intelligent enough to understand that fact, I have been on the Internet back when it was just BBS.'s You were not here when we had members who posted messages that others could not understand, SO please do me a favor and re-read this entire thread and you will see MOST members 100% agree with the rule. The Internet is a huge place there are many sites to choose from, if someone doesn't like the rules of a particular site then there is a very simple solution, find another site. And that rule applies to you as well or any other member. If I see a member who is defying the rules on purpose or making mistakes just to be defiant then that member will be banned, bottomline. I put literally hundreds of hours into this site to keep it fresh and new for my members and don't EXPECT a dime in return, so it's not to much to ask members to TRY! Is it?

  Had you read every post in this thread you would have known I have already said people make mistakes and I do not expect perfection. I do follow my own rules but I also admin this site that has had 1,500 NEW POSTS this month alone, so I am allowed to break my own rules once in a while. But regardless of if I skip a spell check once in a while, my posts are ALWAYS readable, unlike how a couple of the members use to post.

I thought you were bashing me (I still do) because you know I'm the admin of this site that is growing faster than any other dialysis message board, was it necessary to call me out in front of my members? If you wanted to be respectful you would have sent be a PM or an email, but you didn't you decided to embarrass me. But I am not embarrassed because my regular members know how much of my heart I put in this site and THEY understand I make a mistake once in a while too.

So in closing I would like to say YET AGAIN, all I ask is that my members TRY and they to are allowed to forget once in awhile. I am not looking for perfection just legible posts. Since this site will be here even after my death. It is my legacy.

Now let's just put this behind us and move on.

I think it is just that we don't know EpoMan and worry just how patient he is because how he words things we both got the impression that he might not be patient enough .. only because there was at least ONE place on these forums where he did infact state that he does INFACT want perfection. I know for a fact it does say that in one spot but there are so many posts that I don't want to go and try to find it. Wait .. there is a search feature? I might check that out in a bit.

I just want to say Epoman, sorry for being so harsh on you, but now I am going to say something else .. I just ran across something else (yes, else, meaning not the first thing) that I am impressed about on this board. I am impressed that if while typing my post out and spelling checking it (the first thing I am impressed about is the spell checker honestly) is that if someone else posts it will tell me that I might want to edit my post some before submitting it because someone else has posted while I was. ...That is so cool! I have never seen that anywhere else and I like that!! Thank you for choosing this board Powered by SMF 1.0.3. I think I will suggest this format to D&T City as we have been disappointed (greatly) with MSN Groups (their lack of allowing editing of posts mainly but you have so much more here than even just the ability to edit).

I also wanted to say that your site is really needed amongst the dialysis community and I appreciate your site and forums! Sorry if we have been too harsh but it is only because you seem so harsh in your statements we first read where you DID infact say that you DO expect perfection and that mistakes will lead to being banned.

But since your last statements insist (and there is so much to read that it is best if the first one people read would say this instead of having to read everything) that you do NOT expect perfection but just for us to try, we now understand and feel more at ease to post.  At first I was intimidated but I think I am getting more comfortable with you and feel like I can speak my mind. I am just a grumpy person myself at times since I hate dialysis (fitting eh?) and have been on it for 5 years and have lost everything I worked so hard for when my transplant failed. Who knows ... maybe one day I will even put you on my Skype

Have you tried "Kidney Kickups"? or have you seen the "Store", what about the "Arcade" have you tried the games yet? I really wanted to make this site different than the rest. How about our "Memorial" section. Or how about the "Dialysis News" section with up to the minute dialysis news, updated automatically. Let me know what you think. Have you seen the home page yet?

Actually I am VERY impressed by the Up to the minute News But I have not had the time to check out everything because I am currently in the process of moving. I will look at it all after July 9th.

I have seen the homepage simply because that is what you had posted in D&T City Oh! Is it okay to do that (*D&T City*) because I only do that for people who are wondering "what is this D&T City she mentioned?" so that they can click on it and see. If you don't want me to do that then I will just have it as plain text and not clickable. Thanks for all your understanding about me being new here!
