Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

It's 2:49 Atlantic Standard Time (same as EST right now).  A lovely Sunday afternoon - The Lord's Day.  Had a great meeting this morning.  Studied the Lord's Supper and its significance.   Because of my daughter's and niece's graduation, we have a house full - 3 cousins my age, 1 cousin her age, and a friend.  So lunch today was  big - the typical Sunday lunch back home in Barbados (which I never do because it is just my daughter, grandson and myself).  Those who are not sleeping are now watching TBS - Legally Blonde.
Planning to go to the beach this afternoon, about 4p.m. when it is cooler.  THESE DAYS ARE HOTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's 10:37 PM.  I just got back from work.  Ahhhh, it's nice to say that after far too many years of not having enough energy to work at all.  I'm only working one day a week for now, but it's a start.

I picked up the mail on the way home.  I got called for jury duty - on dialysis day, of course.  They are either desperate or stupid, I'm not sure which.  The last juror questionnaire I filled out was before I started dialysis, but I did explain about the kidney failure, the need to check blood sugars and possibly eat during court, and they sent me a notice that I was permanently excused.  Well, apparently not.  Next on my list of things to do today is write the county clerk a letter explaining that I can't skip dialysis. . .

It's 8:40 am.  I'm showered, dogs are fed and have been walked.  Coffee is brewing and it's another long work day.  I'm so excited for next week.  I have Thursday, Friday and Monday off.  Heaven!

5:34 p.m.  California time.  Just sitting here looking at posts and waiting to go to the Toastmaster's meeting tonight!  Big day at school for our 6th graders. We had International Day with them. They got to go around to all of the classrooms and do activities related to the countries we studied in Ancient Civilizations classes. Teachers were about ready to drop at the end of the long day with only a 30 minute lunch break.

I last changed the oil April 4th, 3 months isn't up till July 4th.  Damn, I've done alot of driving.

It is 3:10 p.m (Atlantic/Eastern Standard Time).  I am sitting at a computer in the English Department Staff room of our high School.   School ends at 3:15 (for the students), and i am going to leave at that time with a teacher.  My jeep is still being fixed so I have to get rides.  Learning patience!
It is a very hot and humid day as we had some rain recently.  However, the A/C in our staffroom is nice and cool.  Wish i could take it home with me.

It is 4:33 EST and I'm getting ready to go to my hairdressers. :bandance;  I seriously need a haircut, color and an eyebrow waxing.  I think I might get highlights too.  No dialysis tonight for Rob  :yahoo;, he's the coach on his department's softball team.

It is now 9:42PM CDT and just got done with dinner.  After work today, I stopped at the library to get some cookbooks for kidney disease and a reading novel for myself.  I then went to Target to buy a kitchen grill so we can grill in since the weather here is very iffy this summer.  It sure was cold last night.  I plan on stopping in at chat for a little bit.  Tomorrow is a busy day since I take hubby to see the rheumatologist.

Have a great night everyone.

Back from work.  Picked up the mail and got my response to my letter asking to be excused from jury duty because of dialysis.  They excused me from June 21 - but said they are rescheduling me for sometime in August.  Clearly, they don't have a clue about dialysis!  It's not a one-time appointment, for heaven's sake.  Huh - I might be on home dialysis by then, so maybe I will be able to do it.  I'm still going to have to check my sugar in the middle of court - so we'll see how they like the thought of me packing a bag of snacks to eat!

Off to do some homework now. . .

I had to appear before the judge with my note to get excused from jury duty earlier this month.  Our county is really strict about excuses.   I kept thinking what would have happened if I were subpoenaed before I went on dialysis and I couldn't even get to the bathroom by myself.

It's 8:12 pm here and I'm sitting on the couch watching FoodTV.  I've been dragging all weekend, but I'm trying to get myself amp'd for my appointment with the pancreas/kidney transplant team tomorrow morning.

That stinks about Jury Duty.  Rob got called for it this yar, so his Neph wrote him a note and Rob brought it to the courthouse.  They excused him until he had a transplant.

I wouldn't mind going - I always thought it might be interesting to be on a jury.  They always seem to call me when I can't actually be there, though.  I doubt I'd get selected anyhow, once they figure out I'm a brittle diabetic.

Hi. it's 5:16 Pacific Daylight Time on the left coast of the U.S. I had a nice easy
Saturday today. We went to an early dinner, and we are having friends over
tonight for cards. Nothing serious, just fun. I remain grateful for all of you
on IHD for all the information as I get closer to dialysis while battling my
anxieties about it. Steve

12:30 in the afternoon.  Got up, ate breakfast, read the paper.  No comics in it today.  Heck, that's the best part - it's like dinner with no dessert.  Now I'm going to do some homework and then work out before I go to work.

It's 8:52p.m.  I am in the computer room in the condo in San Diego, CA.  We are on our way home tomorrow morning through Oceanside.    Up the coast highway or 5. San Diego has had mild weather and we have been lazy, lazy.
