Great day to be alive and thankful

« on: April 28, 2019, 09:14:44 PM »

This is a follow-up on a previous post which I can't find. I've been on PD for about 6 yrs, I just had 5 major Things wrong with me. 1. quadruple bypass, 2. inguinal hernia  3. phosphorous levels 9.8 after popping 4 renvela per meal 4. open sores on my arm cause which was called prurigo nodularis it would keep me from sleeping, and last but the best was chronic constipation, everyday.

well it's been two months since surgery, I feel good, I got a  different dermatologist help me with my arms which help 100% ,I'm still knocking out the rest of the problems .for once I didn't think I was gonna make it , I was so tired. I wanted to give up, I just prayed and prayed, and cried I made it to the other side.

I got one thing to say to you new people learn everything ask question in the beginning   these nurses and neph. are like little gods , because you don't know anything but eventually

You have to take control of your life , you need to be your own doctor nobody is going to make you feel better except you, so take control and be thankful that you got on dialysis

If you don't mind my asking, what did the doctor use for the Prurigo Nodularis? Almost sounds like I have what you have but I thought mine was hives from stress and all the antibiotics I've been on for cellulitis.

You have definitely seen "both sides of life" now. Glad you made it back to OUR side! Sounds like your quadruple bypass was a success and put you on the road to recovery. You have a good attitude and sense of humor, let these attributes lead you back to the temple of strength. Please keep us posted. Thanks for sharing.

What an ordeal you’ve been trough, I hope you keep improving, and am glad to read you’ve found a good dermatologist.

I remember you!  I remember that photo!  It's nice to "see" you again; thank you for coming back to IHD and updating us on your progress.  And you're right; we have to be the captain of our own ship.

Thank you im always having a problem signing on , cant retain password but to answer a question about purigo nodularis or Pn  what it is is constant itching and mostly on the arms

my Dem told me to weae a long sleeve shirt or wear zero cream ,it the sun that hurts my skin , i use Aquaphor healing ointment on my arms seems to work pretty good  but now its time to go to sleep.

i dont know why but everything starts to act up at night, i can feel every joint, back pain on the arms  itchy starts up and you cant go to sleep.

my dem gave me a pill call gabapentin , this shut the nerves down and i went to sleep no problems , i slept all night i had the dose lower to 100 mg and the side effects were gone,
