Thank God I have quite some renal function yet to get rid of liquids,  nevertheless I had been perceiving the build up of some liquid in my body since sometime ago.     Here my Renal Unit doesn't seem to care for that, but I clearly did and so decided to check out if I could take furosemide by myself.        I started taking it some days ago,  and have seen a huge increase in the amount of urine I'm getting rid of.   Which of course, makes me very happy!

I want to know if anyone else is on diuretics?      and by the way,  do you know any foods with duretics properties?

My philosophy:   To use as much my kidneys as possible.  I don't want them to shut down thinking I no longer need them because I have been on PD for quite sometime..

Asparagus can make you pee. It might make your wee smell a bit odd, though.

Beets also work for me... but again, the effects on the output are noticeable. I always have a bit of a panic when I see red wee.

Coffee also seems to help.
