Dialysis is going OK,  and ongoing.Ongoing for home heamo for the past 10 years.  I haven't had the need to see a doc for over the year, pretty stable, not infection, just the usual aches and pains in wrist, feet, back, neck, legs (are they they usual??).

I have a girlfriend,  4 years together, we both have disabilities, we both have needs, (she wheelchair access, and a walk in shower, and we're both up against the UK's idiotic system of persicution via bedroom tax

I NEED to stay on home heamo for the best treatment for my life, and lifestyle.  She NEEDS somewhere accessible, and we both ideally need a little bit of green to enjoy our future lives together..

We've seen properties, many estate agents still list NO DSS (old term for no one on benefits)

My family will help a bit, but those that can don't want to invest in us as much as it would help, which I understand but its frustrating... :)

The saga continues..    I'm feeling the pressue as she wants to move soon, even considering a supported housing until I 'catch up'.  That I feel might mean then end of our relationship...
There's a few hundred miles (about 3 hours travel) and &&&&** rules and regulations against us and I hate it!..
End of this rather ranty post..

While I know nothing about the UK system, I think the whole thing sounds sucky. You two should be able to stay together and have a decent place to live. I don't suppose a lawyer could help? I hope you get lucky and find a place.

Sorry about your current situation JW77 and I am aware,
that finding affordable/suitable accomodation can be a bit tricky at the moment...
... and that is perhaps the reason why "our" political parties make "Housing" such a big issue,
especially right now before the next election ...
... Have you asked your local MP for help? Have you thought of trying Housing Assiociations?
There are quite a few of them in London like the "Sutton", the "Lewis" and the "Peabody Housing Trust"  ...
... If I am not mistaken, an application should first be made to your local Council,
accompanied by a letter from your doctor/specialist/GP outlining the situation...
... I have heard that the "Peabody" near Westminster/Victoria creates wheelchair-access etc.
(Not sure how true it is, please check-up)...
... I wish you both the best of luck and hopefully I have sparked an idea...
Best wishes from Kristina.  :grouphug;

Housing is a tricky thing in the UK normally (unless you are rich enough to buy a house)
And even trickier if you are disabled and have special requirements like walk in shower/ doors wide enough for wheelchair etc
I got helped by a Housing Association who were building new homes locally.

Local councils DO have funds for disabled adaptions though they seem to guard the money very well! I would enlist the help of your MP (after the election)
as they can be very useful.

I can empathize with your frustration, housing worries are like a constant black cloud over your head.

Have you tried appealing against bedroom tax decision? I did and won.
Though depending who gets in power next month, strong likelihood of it being scrapped...

I would rather enlist the help of your MP before the election ...
... It has been claimed that MP's are at their most helpful before an election
when they try (again) to convince the electorate how very useful they can be ...
Good luck from Kristina.  :grouphug;
