Then there's the paint chips when we were kids. You know the leaded ones.
Bringing back an old thread, but I just have to comment on this. There are a number of bizarre things that I love the smell of (no eating, just smelling). I like the smell of gasoline (Rerun's not alone), new tires (Epoman's smiling at me from above), coal smoke, hot metal, crude oil, and rubbing alcohol (I give my alcohol pads an extra little sniff before I throw them away after using them during dialysis).
Is all this related to the fact that we have renal failure?

But what I just can't get enough of is the smell of diesel fuel. I did some volunteering at a railroad museum in 1999, and when we would start up one of our diesel locomotives, I would just love to sit or stand there and smell the exhaust (not directly, of coarse). There were a few times when I've been riding my bike on a city street, and I was passed by a bus, I would find myself sprinting harder to keep up with the bus to get an extra whiff of diesel. Geeze, I think I need therapy Adam
I hide it from anyone who rides with me. I would just toss it like an old water bottle if I need to. I know it is wrong, but I don't know why. I don't think it can hurt me and it is not like I'm healthy anyway, so I might as well enjoy life. HA
