he got out of surgery at 2pm
and the doc  talked
to my mom
 to let her know
that the donor
was a guy  and he donated
all his organs
they were surprised
that the donor
only had one kidney
the doc said the kidney
was very healthy :thumbup;

the kidney is still a little lazy
 my sister did ask the doc
what was the longest  person
who had a lazy kidney and was
still on dialyis
he stated 4months..
and that guy has had his kidney for over 2yrs

so my son still may
need dialyis for a few more weeks
depends on the kidney function
so far so good
its just being a bit lazy

10 years on and off dialysis

« Reply #13 on: March 21, 2015, 05:35:13 AM »

Tell him not to lose sight of the end product.
Most kidneys take time to wake up (mine took two weeks) I knew a girl who was in the bed opposite me in hospital whose kidney took nearly 5 months but it is still going strong today (5 years on!!!)
and it takes about 3 months to recover fully from the surgery...and start to feel human again  :waving;

this is funny
my son used to use
 BOUNCY  ball
when he was little
so he would bounce
around on it  in front of the tv
 when he would get excited
and then i think my mom  got rid of
the ball
 so  he has a thing when it comes
 to shows he likes to jump
well when he had his sugery
the doc said he cant jump
just the look on his face

and the other day my mom and sister
took him for his follow up
 and he got permission to jump
omg you should had seen his face

 :rofl; :clap; :yahoo;
