I have converted my diet to being a flexitarian (Vegetarian 5 days /Small amount of meat 2 days a week) after a long conversation with the dietician whilst in hospital.
Gives me the freedom to eat more vegetables and fruit and pulses and nuts than on a standard renal diet but also allows to eat out/ takeaway and the odd bacon sandwich at the weekend.
Will be interesting to see how it affects my blood tests.
I feel quite good after the first week and have lost about 0.5kg!
I find with vegetarian meals, particularly stir fries and suchlike there is more taste and less bulk, if that makes sense.
