Not one of my favorite subjects, but is necessary.
A major factor while on dialysis, is ones 'dry' weight.

So the question becomes 'what is my dry weight, without all the contained colon waste residue'.  :secret;

I kid you not, it does make a difference.
So one needs to stay alert to what is taking place in that area.

Not all the 'over' ones dry weight is water, it can be any part of 0.1 Kg and up , of waste matter contained in ones gut.

This is a stress point for me also, I think I move about 2 kilos from both food and water which I can void at some level!  Monday's can be hard after a enjoyable weekend with food and drink, Friday's are better because I've started to really limit my liquid intake...  I'm trying to do better by telling them to use a different dry weight when I know my belly is full.

Well thank you for being upfront on this clumbsy issue.
May I ask, 'do they honor your rquesting a new dry weight'.
I did have a very short time of being fought regards the dry weight changes.
Now it is only a simple 'please adjust to.....'

Recently came across this goodie.
Have not as yet tried it, but my gut reaction says it will be worthwhile to try, if any constipation problems arise

1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup unprocessed bran (Kellogg's All-Bran cereal)
1/4 cup 100 percent prune juice

Mix ingredients together and eat after the evening meal.
Repeat as one feels the need  to obtain relief from any constipation.

Yes but I don't have swelling yet, so I'm in a strong position saying I'm able to pass extra water.

I feel I get dried out. With the binders and all I feel like I am trying to pass modeling clay instead of good old poop.  :'( Stool softeners are kind of a joke, Take with plenty of water they say, yeah, right. Hope this isn't too much info.
