Hi my name is Kim and I do not have ESRD but my husband of 38 years does. I hope its alright that I joined IHD message board so I can help him deal with this . He is 58 years old  was just told in April 2013 he needs to start dialysis. He has had a temporary port put in 3 times in his neck cause the fistula is having a hard time maturing. The fistula is working but now but not up to its full potential.  November of 2013 he has had a triple bypass. Needless to say We need to know what to expect next and what is normal and what other people with esrd are experiencing . I know that he is just plain tired of feeling bad. The only good thing that has come out of this is that he does not have to use insulin anymore. Nice to meet you all and Thank you or letting me join.

I also had a triple by-pass, back about end of Jan 07

That made a big improvement, I was soo tired all the time, afterwards not near as much.

Curious how he got off the insulin, weight loss enough a little activity burns off enough sugar that he's good?  That's my problem, little to no activity other than typing on this keyboard.  At least I use more than two fingers. (lol).
