I have same idea as George. My (living) transplant should be in Oct, so after my vacation I started to exercise regularly to be on the best possible condition for the surgery. I have been now going 2 months. I think it should definitely help on recovery from the surgery.

I am about same size as George and based on my earlier experience you might gain some weight as muscle is heavier than fat

The leg muscles are the largest muscle group.  And since muscle weighs more than fat, it's entirely possible that you've added some lean muscle mass to your frame.

Zach, thanks for the knock on the head. I started walking, only a couple of laps around the football field, but I am walking! I have been taking the stairs at work whenever possible, and am parking as far away as I can at work, and try to walk briskly as well! I have just started the proceedings to be put on the transplant list, and I want to be in as good shape as I can be! :boxing;

I've got to get moving. I was at transplant clinic today and I've put on weight.

Good news though. The Doctor said the people with a BMI in the overweight range live longer than people in the ideal or obese range. He said he read it in a new study.

Who's up for double cheese burgers?  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

I did a bike ride with the kids today. It was sponsored by the Kiawanas Club. It was a treasure hunt with clues. We got "t-shirts". Doesn't take much to excite me. Great day and a nice ride. We did 6 miles.  :thumbup;

Oh, I've been so bad this week - I've been up and out the door on the run every day.  I haven't worked out at all, but then it seems like I'm barely home long enough to do anything except dialysis lately.  Bleah.  I hope next week is better!
