Hi,

I had transplant back on 03/2011. I have been working since 07/2011. Does anybody knows roughly  when I will receive the letter  saying I will lose or keep the Medicare? Please share your experience. Thanks

I remember when I was covered under my father's Medicare # with a C2 added to the end because I was 22 and put on dialysis in 1973.

I kept that number when I had a transplant in '87' which rejected in 2001.

I eventually went on my own Social Security number because I applied for disability in 2006 when they explained to me that you have to notify SS / Medicare if any changes occur in job status, marital status or whether you received a transplant.

I have never applied for disability. I scared that the Medicare does not know I had transplant although they paid the transplant operation  cost as primary. I assumed that they knew I had transplant. Thanks

I think you keep medicare after a transplant for 3 years.  So, I'm guessing 3/2014

Thinking they should send letter mention about it in advance.
