Fluid restriction is driving me CRAZY

Thanks for your suggestions. However, won't home hemo be stressful to the heart since you do it everyday? I had a heart attack in March 2011 and I can only tolerate 1.5 liters UF goal at most. Besides, the overall cost like the machine and other supplies would have to be considered, right? I'm not even sure if we have home hemo where I come from... In-center is the mode here...

Soda, when you are running six days per week, you can pretty much drink what you want.    In addition, it is easy on your heart when it is done over 6-8 hours, not 4 hours.  Honestly, that is not how they human body works.  Actually, Home Nocturnal is cheaper than In-Center, as a trained Economist, I could give you all of the reasons, but, I do not want to bore you.    In addition, you will be able to eat what you want, anything, no more control freaks.  Right now, I am doing an 8 hour treatment, because I needed a day off and I overdrank.....  I am taking off .55 an hour for 4 liters.........  Home Nocturnal is also wonderful for your heart.  You run on your schedule, not that of control freaks and idiots.  No more loud and stupid lectures.    I wish I was at your clinic, would not allow you to suffer that way......   Those people would be told a few things that they did not want to hear and loudly.  Too bad for them that they cannot do anything to me....  I am not kidding about Mercy Flight.

I've had fluid restrictions before (although not related to dialysis. I'm lucky in that I haven't had fluid restrictions yet. I feel your pain).  I never chewed ice, which is odd, because I'm an ice chewer usually.

One thing I used I've only seen at hospitals, but perhaps you could ask a nurse if you could take some or where you might find some (also if it has a proper name.  I just called it the pink spongy minty thing.  I was 12 and on pain killers. lol) ?  It is about as long as a Q-tip with a pink sponge at the end.  You dip it in water and chew on it.  It not only helps with the need for water in your mouth, but it's softer than ice, AND it leaves you with a nice mint taste (I've also used it when I've been too sick to get out of a hospital bed and properly floss/brush my teeth.)

I am addicted to ice ... especially crunching it when starting to melt.
Noisy but I love it.
So much that we bought an ice maker for home so I have a constant supply!!!!
