MEMO

To:  Head Mama at I Hate Dialysis
From:  Gerald Lively
Subject:  A Real Complaint
Date:  28 August 2013

For the last three months, logging in has become a dueling exercise with a stubborn computer - your computer or perhaps your ISPs server.

Since early Summer the guard at the gate wouldn't let me in. And your computers attitude is a bit prickly.    Your computer's favorite tactic is to inform me that either the name is incorrect or the password is wrong. It tells me what to do, I do it but the first try is never good.   If a second attempt fails, it has instructions on how to obtain a new password.  I did that and once it told me that someone already has that password.  Then I go back with a freshly minted old password and most often it lets me in.  In July I couldn't get in for a couple of weeks.

If you are sending me a message, like stay away, tell me.  There is always someone who does not approve of my straight forward no BS answers on serious questions.  Tell me - do you still like me - - do I have to continue to do battle at the gate?  Or have I been demoted to the curmudgeon section?

Awwwww. But if your status has changed to curmudgeon, consider that an honor! Curmudgeonhood has to be earned!  :2thumbsup;

Still love you!

Don't think it's the server Gerald because I'm not seeing any issues and I've had to log in cold from a couple of places.

I agree with Aleta--IHD has a lot of curmudgeons, and I love 'em all! It's pretty hard to keep a sunny disposition nowadays, especially when you have serious health issues.

Btw, I've also been having a little trouble logging in lately. The sign-in page says I'm entering an incorrect password, so I have to re-enter it, then everything is OK.

No problems while at home or on iPhone. I use IE 9 and Chrome, but have not used Firefox much. Thing that pops in my head is an update on ones pc either done or not, virus/ firewall issue, setting in browser or time to clean cache & history. Much easier to figure out knowing everything before it started and day of start and being in front of pc.

The damn thing blocked me out yesterday.  The box that says "forever" does not work.  I just now got in after three attempts. http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/Smileys/classic/Kitkatz_Big_Stick.gif

Hand raised!  It happens to me.  I think we (as in you and me)need to up date to IE 9.  After you do it to your computer come do it to mine.
I can't get "chat" for the same reason.  Just have not done it yet.

I will check into it. I had a problem one time and thought it was a fluke. I don't think we could survive without Lively entertainment. Not sure if there is much I can do unless we go down a level of security. I will find out. I will be gone this weekend but I will work on this next week.
