This may have been posted before but a friend told me to eat a tea spoon (tsp) of yellow mustard. I tried it and it worked really fast! I looked on line and sure enough they suggest a tsp of mustard. I don't think a tsp of mustard has enough potassium to hurt us.

I'm the weird kid that would open a packet of mustard and suck it down, so I don't think a tsp of mustard would bother me, especially if it did help with leg cramps... will have to keep that one in mind

Rerun, would it help or rather, would it work, if you took it at bedtime? or only works when you are cramping?

I had cramps last night , all over .The nurse I talked to said that albumin level was low so tissues could not get rid of the fluid. She told me to eat more meat. I've been cramping on and off today , the mustard doesn't work for me. I have had these cramps since I started the big "D". A day without them is noteworthy. I am usually a cheerful person, but I lost her in March. I'll be glad when I feel like myself again. ( or at least a close facsimile thereof.) Beth

I don't think I could stomach mustard on its own ... would have to accompany it with a ham sandwich Interesting theory though. Since I have been taking clomazepam at night I have been sleeping like a baby, no restless legs or cramp at night or on dialysis. Wonderful. And no side effects to report either.

Yellow Mustard contains high levels of magnesium. Might be the reason this works so well. Funnily enough my dog's herbal agility supplement (old. stiff Labrador) contains yellow mustard seed!!! And it's working wonders with his arthritis too!
