-Diagnosed with ESRD (born with one kidney, hypertension killed it) Jan 21st, 2007
-Started dialysis four days later in hospital (Baxter 1550-I think, then Gambro Phoenix)
-Started in-centre dialysis Feb 6th 2007 (Fres. 2008H)
-Started home hemo June 5th 2007 (NxStage/Pureflow)
-PD catheter placed June 6th 2008 (Bye bye NxStage, at least for now)
-Started CAPD July 4th, 2008
-PD catheter removed Dec 2, 2008-PD just wouldn't work, so I'm back on NxStage
-Kidney function improved enough to go off dialysis, Feb. 2011!!!!!
-Back on dialysis (still NxStage) July 2011 :(
-In-centre self-care dialysis March 2012 (Fresenius 2008K)
-Not on transplant list yet.

 :puke;  well thats just gross..lol   Sorry! did you loose enough to need transfuson??  Hope your feeling ok and what caused the spirt

Sorry this happened.  I've bled out a few times when not being careful while holding the 4x4 on the puncture sites. Are you unable to hold site pressure?  Clamps are not good for accesses since the amount of pressure exerted can't be controlled.  That can cause an access to clot off.  Especially dangerous to use clamps on both sites at the same time.

I hope a staff member had the decency to wipe off the blood from your face/skin and didn't make you wait to do it yourself until after the bleeding was under control.

Sun-Tue-Thur - 6 hours per treatment
Dialysate flow (Qd) - 600 
Blood pump speed(Qb) - 315
Fresenius Optiflux200 NR filter - NO REUSE
Fresenius 2008 K2 dialysis machine

My access is old and thin, so excessive bleeding is common. I'm getting a new access put in soon. As for the clamps, I have neuropothy in my hands and I'm unable to hold pressure for any longer then a minute or two. My arms are so skinny I've never had a problem with the clamp putting too much pressure on the access. The nurse did wipe the blood off right after she took the picture.
