Does anyone know if Soda / mineral water is high in potassium?? my dietitian said she didn't know...  :urcrazy;

if you mean club soda, then no - 12 ounces only has 7.1mg and no phos.

Good thread everyone. I have been on a low potassium diet for about a year when
my level got to 6.3. There are certainly a large number of tasty foods on the high
potassium list, hard to eat sometimes. I never connected the muscle weakness with
high potassium, but some times my legs feel very "heavy". I don't know if this
is truly caused by the potassium or the lack of exercise.

My grandma 2 days ago had readings of 6.7 and Said she didn't feel good. She went to the ER HIGH POTASSIUM and some damge of heart. He had to get surgery on her arm because it was clogged because of some draft or something. One guy got a box of cherries one day from a neighbor and ate about 3 ONLY. In an hour he felt symptoms of weakness and definetly no feeling in the legs at all. He went to the ER and found out his potassium was high at about 8.1 from just 3 CHERRIES. Crazy right ? :oops;

I have high K and muscle weakness, but never related the two.
I try to check most of what I eat on the DaVita food analyzer, but have t remember even if Ieat a little bit. it all adds up.
Today I ate about 5 french fries from a lunch companions  selection.  Shouldn't have, but I did.

Probably not, but it should specify that on the label (K +), cos some actually do.
