Well, today I had an appointment and all the lab test were made. 14 days ago I had the lowest creat after Tx, it was 2.1. But today I couldn't believe my eyes. Creat went up to 3.0 in 14 days. The only difference between today and last appointment was that at last appointment neph prescribed me diuretics to lower my blood pressure. Consequently I lost almost 8 pounds (4 kilos) in 14 days and my potassium level was only 3.2 with many fruits eaten almost every day (bananas, apples,...).
I feel devastated and I have to go to another appointment on Thursday. If there will be no improvement in creat level, I'll be admitted into hospital and scheduled for biopsy. This really sucks :(

It sucks all right. I cringe every time I see that area code on my phone. Definitely do blood retests before a biopsy.

Aw, GT, I'm sorry you have another worry with your new kidney.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news.  Sending positive energy and calm, happy vibes your way. (We need a more Zen-like emoticon!)  :blank:

Today I have had biopsy. The results will be known tomorrow. MY Creat  went down (40 EU units) in one day. I hope this is a sign of no rejection. What do you think?

I went to my doctor as a walk in with massive edema in my ankles and a 26lb weight gain in a few weeks since my previous appointment with him. He always was very cautious about perscribing any meds that the kidneys filter. He gave me diuretics but only enough to take that excess water off. He told me I was a little too active with my walking 2 miles a day. A few days later the water was gone and my ankles were back to normal.

After a lot of study on my CKD and after buying a book by a naturopath I ran across this in a section.

"Early Stages of Kidney Disease – Treatment
Diuretics - Taking diuretics eases the pressure from the kidneys by taking a load off. However, this medication may be the cause of your kidney disease – as a result of taking too many diuretics in the past. If this is you, please avoid this treatment. Always ask your doctor before taking any medication."

My doctor would not perscribe me oral anti fungals because of the toll on the kidneys. It took 2 years and 4 different topical to get rid of ringworm.

Having a good doctor that you trust with your life is important.

I truly hope everything goes as you wish no rejection!
