It's all me.

« on: February 07, 2013, 02:17:55 PM »

Ok, everything was going okay for awhile and now its happening again. The last half hour of HD I get palpitations, woozy, hot, sweaty, loopy and when they pull the blunt needles out of my buttonholes they STING = HURT = PAIN. Last night I had to sit for 20 min before I left to drive home. My blood pressure was 138/90 and pulse was 112. I FELT LIKE CRAP!
Then I got home, walked my dog (well he walked himself cause I was tired....), made chicken soup (low sodium), and started to feel a little better - more functionable (yes a new word). I don't know what is going on! They don't either. I argued with my Nephro doctor Monday about him telling me they lowered my dry weight and I didn't even noticed....no they did not!!! I know that machine now and I watch it. Also when I walk out weighing myself I can see how much was taken off. Then he said that my breathing issues that have come back are fluid in my lungs...I told him no this is different than last time. When I stop the Lopressor I dont have that many issues and I can sleep. He acted like I was a dork. He said fine we will try something different.
After yesterday the kid in me says NO dont go back! But the adult in me says you better go. So I am asking a friend to meet me there towards the end to walk me through it and see if it happens while she is there. Also I have asked her to bring me some food thinking that may be a small part of the issue here.
I really need some information here. I don't know what is going on. ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

How are things going now?  I am a newbie to HD so I am sorry as I can not give any words of wisdom.  I know when I get antsy and start to sweat I need the to stop taking water out and give me some back.  I hope having your friend there helped to see what is going on. Please update to let us all know.
God bless.

I am so glad I'm off Hemo and on PD.  I decide when to use the red bag or the green bag, and I like it that way.  That reminds me, I've got to get some quinine water for my next bout with the red bag.

I was doing something like that and we had to raise my dry weight.  Lopressor can cause sleep disturbances and even night mares.  I take it and have to make sure I dont take it too close to bed time. I dont think they understand how it feels to be us.  This keeps us alive but thats about it.  Its just really hard on our body.  Hang in there...

Hi Mamagemini new here and newish to dialysis just over 1 year . When i get sweaty and restless the nurse cuts down on the fluids outake they say i get it from low blood pressure ,  and every time they remove the 2 blunt needles yep you can bet on it you will feel it. I also got them to raise my dry weight up 3 kilos even do i managed to reach my dry weight , the doctor said my dry weight was to low to keep at that level because i felt crap all the time . I hope you are , and will be ok soon i will light 3 candles in church tomorrow morning for your good self and the other candles for every one else good luck .

Faithfully
