Creatinine is up
«

I guess I'm really becoming a slave to my new kidney. My creat last Friday was 2.43. After that they increased the level of prograf (from 4mg in the morning to 5mg in the evening to 5mg+5mg). Today my creat was 2.68 and I completely freaked out. Ok, I was a little bit dehydrated (too much diuretic).
I wanted to come to the doctor on Monday, but the nurse said I'll have my labs at the end of next week. And she also stated that I shouldn't worry too much and that I should enjoy my life (she was right, I know that).
Agggrrrrr, I'm mad on myself........

The tendency to panic over everything is extremely common after a transplant. Try to find something to distract yourself. Take a deep breath. We all do this.

Even slight dehydration will raise your creatinine. Drink up!

Prograf can cause your creatinine to increase - so as mentioned, hydration is important - also eating regularly and keeping your nutrition up - hope things improve - so sorry it's been such a challenge!

I hear you mate. after my tx I was very sensitive to changes like this and worrying about it, but the docs are clearly doing what they feel they need to do to sort you out (adjusting prograf) so just hang in there. If they thought it was something to really be concerned about they would order the labs earlier.. I think it's probably a good sign they are willing to give it a couple of weeks.
I know it's hard... I tried to relax more as time went on, specially as things stabalised.. and hopefully they will find the sweet mix of meds for you too.

That's exactly what it is.. try to enjoy the ride right now, as best you can.. it will slow and stop soon enough, and you can get on with life as normal.. with a perfectly working kidney.. Trust me.. I've done it twice.. *L*
