9 months ago I was diagnosed with pageant schroetter syndrome (aka. thoracic outlet syndrome). They've been trying to do work arounds since then but so far nothing has helped. So the last resort is to remove my first rib that's under the collar bone.
Because of the extra bloodflow from my fistula, and the blood having no where to go, my left arm is twice the size of my right.
I was just wondering if there is anyone else that has had this done or know anyone?
I go in 4 days to have this done. The said it will take 3 weeks before I am fully healed. But I have read that it can take 5 weeks before I can do basic tasks. Anyone have any experience with this?
I have a roommate but I can't rely on him for anything. Wondering if I need to stay with my sister or something.

Why do bad things always happen to good people?

Sorry I never heard of that.  I hope all goes smoothly and you have a speedy recovery.  Best wishes.

I know someone who's had it done. She recovered well. But does still have to be careful of certain movements and range of motion at times with what she does with her arm/shoulder on the side that she had the rib removed. It seems to have discomfort "flare ups" if it is overworked. Hope all goes well.
