Did anybody else find that the tissue under their fistula incision at the elbow got all lumpy?  I feel my thrill so I know it's not clotted, but a really large lump has formed under the skin and I'm not sure if it's just swelling or what.  Does this sound familiar?  If you were me would you call the surgeon's office?  I have an appt. with him on the 26th.

I have lump at my insision site also, and I had my fistula done 14 months ago.  My doctor said it was nothing to worry about, but you might want him to look at it to be sure.

I'd call, just in case.  No point in taking a chance there is something wrong!

I'd call the doctor, I had my fistula op last April, scar is great, small and thin, the thrill is present but I recently had a scan which shows a stenosis at the site where the vein joins the artery, apparently scar tissue has formed. I am having it fixed next month, so I would go and make sure all is well, better to do that than lose the fistula.

Why do bad things always happen to good people?

You sure it's not just your fistula?  It will eventually get bigger and bigger especially when doing dialysis.

I've decided it's just scar tissue.  I didn't call but I had a friend who used to have one take a look at it and he said he thought that's what it is.
