We would like to thank the IHD Admins who have reviewed and allowed our request to post this market research project information.

We have received excellent response from people and the study is now closed.

The remainder of this message is left in tact for people to refer to later.

BASICS:
2 hours of your time, $75 compensation, giving your opinions in an online focus group (similar to online chat room).

DETAILS:
Caliber Research is a marketing research company and we specialize in recruiting people in special or rare circumstances/jobs/locations/etc. to participate in paid research projects.  The current project involves meeting with a research professional and a group of people who currently use peritoneal dialysis for their dialysis treatments.  Qualified participants login to a special "meeting room" web site from their home computer (or any PC/Mac computer).  Using their computer and web cam (we'll provide the web cam if needed), they participate in a meeting discussing dialysis issues.  Not everyone qualifies for this study and not everyone who qualifies will be selected to participate (although we haven't turned down anyone qualified person yet).  Upon the completion of the meeting, we mail each participant $75 as a way for us to thank them for their time, input, and opinions.

In order to qualify we ask that you complete a five-minute online survey that asks more detailed but relatively impersonal questions (age, gender, and so on).

Interested?  Please CLICK HERE (link removed) to start the qualification survey.

Questions?  Please CLICK HERE to email us your questions or send me a message through IHD Personal Message.

Thank you.

I tried to signup but the only times offered were during working hours on the west coast.

Hello Karol - Thank you again for reviewing our information allowing us to post our project on IHD.  We will not disappoint IHD members.

Hello Bill - Thank you for taking our qualification survey.  I sent you a PM with some alternate options that might potentially work.

Hello Joe - I understand your skepticism (at least I read a little bit of that into your comment).

First, thank you for completing the qualification survey.  I will be sending you a confirmation email and some additional information emails to get you set up for the online focus group session.

Second, I have been in the market research business for 20 years and legitimate research companies (and there are a lot of us) struggle unnecessarily because of people posing as research firms that are often running some type of scam or selling something under the guise of research.  I will not use this forum as a soap box to express my frustration but I could write a book on the topic.  My main message to you (and others who share some skepticism) is that I will go out of my way in just about every way possible to demonstrate the legitimacy of Caliber.  I welcome your calls, emails, Google searches, and a visit to my office in Idaho if that will help you (or anyone) see that this is a legitimate project conducted by a legitimate market research firm.

Thank you for your reply to my post and I will be in touch via email with a confirmation and additional information about participating in the online focus group.

I did something similar to this last year. We chatted online about PD issues and I did receive my $40 check.

This is for PD patients to participate. For the research study for the in-center hemo patients go to: http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=27272.0

I just signed up and filled out the short survey so hopefully I will be a good candidate for this research.

I died participate in their study and found that they were very professional and seemed truly appreciative of my insights and experiences. All in all, I would do it again if asked.
