Hello
I am enjoying this message board.  My question is how do they(the doctors) figure out you target weight, when you are on PD DIALYSIS????????

Hi Jasper.

I was on CAPD for over 12 years.  The way that they used to fix my target WT was. The Doctor checks your ankles to see that there is any swelling, looks at the veins in your neck. For me it was mainly my Bp  If it was to high I was a bit overloaded so had to use a strong bag to take the extra fluid off.  It is very hard to keep a balance.  But you do soon learn. It is nearly the same for haemo.

Thanks Kevno I knew someone with experience would have a good answer for him. I kind of knew the answer but I wanted him to get a reply from someone who is or had been on CAPD.
