My son Roddy McSleepy at 6 months! sry pic sidewz

Hey all, long time no see.  I forgot my touchpad a while back and got out of the habit of checking in.  Hope all is well.

Last Friday at 8:20am, after a morning of feeling pretty spunky (did yoga and watered plants, weeded a little before work, in addition to my normal running around, packing lunches and scooping littler boxes), I suddenly felt like I  was going to pass out. I was dizzy/faint, and weak, room moved a bit, though not so bad if I rested my head on my hands and closed my eyes, really bad if I put my head back.  For once, I called the doctor right away, because it was Friday, and already had a half day for an out of town Wedding, so I figured I  could leave work.  Boss made me leave cause I looked rough.  I ran some errands and went to doctor (I still felt sick, but worried I'd have to go to ER, and all my stuff wouldn't be done).  I was sort of out of it, but not grouchy or forgetful like with low blood sugar.  All blood levels looked good, though I didn't hear anything about iron/red blood cells.

I also had some pain in my lower abdomen (bladder pain) and left flank (kidney pain).  Didn't feel too sick, but had had these symptoms before a big fat kidney infection in January, and told the doctor this (including vertigo).

so--I  got Keflex, went to wedding and felt crappy til Sunday.  Flank and bladder pain gone almost at once.  Culture came back negative on Monday, discontinued Keflex.  Blood glucose was 81, Vit D 56, potassium 4.3, white blood cell count 10.5.  Nothing looked fishy.  I have an appointment with Nephrology on the 17th, so I can try to ask then.  Only thing I can think is, it's been really hot, maybe I got dehydrated? I ate and everything.  I thought I drank enough, but I don't know.

anyone else have this kind of stuff?  Anyone else have recurrent flank pain?  My doctor wants to do a thorough back workup, I feel it's a waste.  I get headaches and neck aches, maybe this was a sinus thing?  I don't know, but I was in a curiously good mood most of the day, even with my vertigo/dizziness.  Just wanted to lay down!

also had a very frustrating conversation with nurse.  I have been using bleach, alcohol, etc. To wash my catheters since soap and water doesn't seem any good.. University of Michigan does not condone this cause it breaks down catheters, but I have been infection free for a couple of months, so, I don't know, it seems to work.

For me the dizziness is caused by dehydration.  I can feel it in my legs and then if I stand up too quick or bend over (such as tying shoes) I'll get light headed.  Another good indication for me is that I can't walk straight.  I look like I've been on a 3 day drunk.  So I use the walls to balance myself.  To combat it, I will drink more water and eat something salty. (crackers, nuts, etc)   That works for me.  Grumpy

I  get a lot of flank pain but that is because my kidneys are enlarged due to having cysts on mine. I have polycystic kidney disease.
