Hello All,
I thought I would share with all some of the funniest & craziest things that have been said to me.Whenever people see my fistula & bandage up right arm.
1.What is that thing?
2.What did you do to get it?
3.Where did you go to have it done?
4.Does it hurt?
5.Can I touch it?Yikes!!you've a cat in your fistula
6.There's no such thing as kidney disease,I'll prove it to you.
7.Are you contagious?
8.You don't look sick to me.You must be faking it.
9.When I had the staples in my right arm(2nd fistula),I had people ask if I was involve in a staple accident.Cause I had alot of staples in my arm.
10.Was your surgeon crazy?
11.When will it go away?
12.Does your medical doctor know about this?
13.Where can I sign up to sit down for 4 hours?
When my younger brother first saw the 1st fistula(right arm) he wanted to take a sharp knife to it.He could not understand that I had a serious disease. My boyfriend had tried to get me to see my medical doctor alot sooner. He thought maybe there was something wrong with me.Inwhich we did find out there there was something very serious wrong with me.
Hugs,
Sandi

One time, when my boyfriend Thomas & I were having lunch. This was right after I had finish my dialysis session,We were having lunch somewhere,I had my dialysis bag with me.A food server wanted to know if she needed to take away the salt shaker. We polietly told her no.Cause we don't use salt.Plus I told her that I DON'T have this disease. It has ME! :) :rofl; This is mywayof STAYING POSTIVE.I'm trying to EDUCATE some people that DON'T even know about kidney disease. This include our local pharmcy.I keep the  staff inform on  how I'm doing.I do wear a medical alert Id bracelet that my mom gave me.I keep telling my younger brother that he need to watch his salt intake. He needs tio trade in his BIG salt shaker for a small one.
