Kevin is a good person.  Cared for all.  His footsteps were called by God, may he rest in the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ!  RIP

This is a sad loss for all of us here at IHD.  What a wonderful and supportive man he was.  He will be greatly missed.  Peace to him and his family.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers for Kevin and the family.  I am his wife, Susan.  He passed away in the hospital from cardio pulmonary arrest.  I got a call from the doctor at 1:35 AM on May 15.  She said his heart was in a "funny" rhythm and they were doing everything they could.  He passed away before I got to the hospital.  My son (age 10 at the time) and I chose not to see Kevin after he passed.  We had a good memory of him before we left the hospital that previous evening.  I think Kevin knew his time was short.  The last thing he said to our son before we left the hospital was, "I will always love you, no matter what".

I want to let you all know that today (August 5) is the 13 year anniversary of Kevin's kidney transplant.  The transplant gave him 12 years of freedom from dialysis and insulin shots.

It is fitting that yesterday, on the eve of his transplant anniversary, I recieved a package on my doorstep.  It contained a "Gift of Life Donor Metal" and "Certificate of Appreciation" in honor of Kevin's donation of tussue, bone and corneas.  Unfortunately, he was not able to donate his organs.

I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get on here and thank you all.  I have my good and bad days.  I'm attending a support group for widows.  I am the youngest one there and the only one with a young child.

Thank you all for the love and support that you have given Kevin over the years.  I know he enjoyed being a part of IHD.

bless your heart for comming here and sharing this with us.  You have crossed a road that none of us want to cross and some (me) of us fear.  I talk to another lady from here that helps me live and love for today, and try to keep strong through these ups and downs.( I have my husband still, but im one who has a problem controling fears of loss) Im so glad you are going to a support group for help as this is something that needs all you can gather to gain strength to continue and grow.  I pray for your healing, and sending warm hugs and to say, we still miss him too.. God bless and rest his soul.

Hi Susan...

Was thinking of you, Katon, and of course, Kevin today...

My mum was feeling a bit chilly after her shower this morning, and she asked for a rug... I asked her which one, and she replied 'My Kevin rug'... Everytime she uses, or even looks at that lovely rug, Kevin will be in our hearts and minds....

May God bless and protect you and your family....
