(like today) ....and that voice in my head keeps saying "Is it time to start ? Is it time ?". Not feeling well with that added anxiety. Ugh.

And the anxiety makes your heart race, and then you start thinking about the cardiovascular implications of CKD, and then you just fall into an incoherent puddle in the corner somewhere. Been there, done that. I don't think you ever get used to it.
I feel the anxiety the most when I am waiting to get lab results. My neph gave me a prescription for anti-anxiety meds. [Most Interesting Renal Patient in the World] I don't use them often, but when I do, I take Xanax.[/Most Interesting Renal Patient in the World]
I hope you feel better soon.

I hate that you're not feeling well, too.
But glad to at least hear from you. I'd wondered where you'd gone off to. I once called 911 because I was sure I had plummeted into serious renal failure. The ambulance came and everything. I am so glad I am not a famous person, because you all would have no doubt got a good laugh hearing me on the gossip programs saying dramatically down the phone "I'm in kidney failure. Quick, I need dialysis." or something. Turned out I had a 24-hour flu that was making me upchuck every 20 minutes or so. As ridiculous as I felt, everyone understood why I panicked. If you have a health problem of this magnitude, it's always best to take the cautious route.
I hope you feel better and that dialysis is ages and ages away for you, Todd.

Todd, What is your GFR? Mine was 12.5 last labs and was 11 the one before that.
Just want to compare symptoms here. It drives me nuts too.

Oh, oh, I would seriously say to just live every single second, before D. But than again after 14+ yrs (I decide at this minute that I won't count from now on, sounds bad enough) on D, its okay sometimes, I feel good sometimes, I'm quite often happy, so just think its shit, but whatever happens, happens. Breath in deeply, and blow out 2 as slow. (apparently reduces stress)

the two times I really didn't feel well, nausous and extremly tired, I went to the ER and my potassium was super low, and creatine was high, so they doctors made me stay in the hospital until it got under control again. The second time i went it I had to start dialysis. And honestly i was thankful, because I was sick of being sick. Dialysis actually made me be able to continue on with my day, since I was was working full time and still going to school part time. I was a determine young women.

I am there too and totally understand. I just got my labs, gfr 9.5 now and appt. with doctor Friday to see what he says about it. Is it time yet? Is it time yet??
My symtoms are very tired, some swelling, nausea occationally, headaches occationally.
Xanax.. without taking it occationally, and without my anti-depressents I would be curled up in the corner right now.
