I could do buttonholes on him, but prefer to use the sharps and continue with ladder.  The only thing with sticking him ladder method, is he looks like he is a JUNKY because of the sticks, but as long as you get good D., then my little junky is ok!  LOL.

Well put DD.  It just whatever you are comfortable with.

Had my fistula put in nearly 5 months ago. It buzzed a little bit, now nothing. I'm still using my catheter, which is painless. I've had no infections, and I shower almost every day.
Sometimes, my arm with the fistula goes numb. I'm thinking of having it removed.

Friday they used both veins for my new fistula, it worked, and there was no pain.  Before, the last hour was painful.  I see my vascular surgeon Tuesday, and, hopefully, with another good dialysis session on Monday, she'll decide to take it off (the catheter, that is).

Kraig how can they remove your fistula?  It was explained to me that they splice together a vein and artery to create the fistula.   I was told smaller veins that spider out from the one being used can be the reason for numbness because they are not getting the blood flow like they did before the Fistula was created.

After my followup with the vascular surgeon, he thinks that he'll probably leave it where it is and not need to move it. I hope it's not too inconvenient or uncomfortable to stick where it is now. We'll see how it matures and how big it gets.

I still have numb areas on my arm (the areas circled with pen, so I can see if they're slowly getting better). If I press on the right side of my incision scar, the circled area closer to my wrist tingles painfully for a moment, so I suspect it's numb because of nerves that were cut or damaged. It probably means that feeling isn't going to come back.  :'( But it is just fine, light touch that's numbed out. I can still feel deeper pressure.

I have another appointment and an ultrasound in 6 weeks.
