Is it that bad?

The man next to me threatened to report the tech that put me on because he couldn't come to his machine right away when it was alarming. I said to the man "Is it really that bad that you have to report him? I mean come on. The guy stuck me five times, my arm hurts, and I almost had to go home without a treatment today but he finally got me on. If anyone should report him its me but I'm happy that he got me on the machine. You had to add what? Three minutes to your run time because he was dealing with another machine?" The man just grumbled.
So my point is;
Always look on the bright side of life

well that's ok than.the man grumbled so he probably just liked moaning. Maybe the man can check the machine next time himself, turn of the alarm himself, and continue dialysing if it doesn't look dangerous or if it doesn't hurt.

We're not supposed to touch the machines if they alarm Even silencing the alarm is something we're not to do. They even turn the machines away from us so we can't reach them, or see what they say. That bothers me. I'd like to be able to see what's on the screen
Some people are more demanding, and feel that they should be catered to. In a busy dialysis unit, that's not always going to be easy to do. I'd say this guy has a stick up his butt, and just needs to chill a bit. It's better than waiting 45 minutes after bp, weight, and temp was done, just to be put on. I've done that several times.

Of course you want to see what's on the screen. I ask them to put the machine so I can adjust it, and check it, and turn the alarm of. Whenever I am in a new unit, or shift they have to get used to that, but they do. They (ergo the staff) can actually appreciate that too, like when it's busy with people taking off and stuff. Misstakes are only human so I like to check everything, as its me who will suffer for it.
