I have been working for months on a All in to win for Hope Celebrity Poker Tournament to raise funds for the Renal Support Network. We are also partnering with another charity - Love Across the Ocean, they provide help to Vietnamese refugees and bring food and essentials to Vietnam.
We have a great batch of stuff for the silent auction - even a lovely painting from our very own Larry G - so it should be fun. We also have made poker chip necklaces which my friend and I made from real clay poker chips and silverplated ball chain. The celebrities who are confirmed are Jack Black, Daniel Baldwin and Brad Ellis from Glee. There are about 20 other celebrities but I don't know them well, you can see the list here http://www.rsnhope.org/poker - let me know if you recognize any names!
So it's crunch time and I am swamped with last minute details. If all goes well we should be welcoming about 200 guests to the casino on Saturday - wish me luck - I have spent a lot of time working on this! I am looking forward to a long nap on Sunday!

Good to know!
Nah, I am not playing. I have 2 photographers and a videographer to lead around, plus setting up the auction. Someday I should learn to play... I don't have a good poker face though!

Good luck, Karol and best wishes from Kristina.

Thanks Bill, for the video of Kenny Rogers in "The Gambler";

I don't play and I have no poker-face either,

but I very much enjoyed watching the video and listening to the song !

Best of luck, Karol!

I've met one of the celebs - Yancey Arias. I interviewed him and a friend who were in a production of Night of the Iguana decades ago. I only remember this because his name is so unusual that it stuck with me all these years (no idea what the friend's name was). I also interviewed him very briefly for a charity event where he stole the show, although he was not working with other professional performers. If I remember correctly, he was part of a Sesame Street spoof. If you do talk to him and need a conversation starter, you can mention that I remember him for those two things after all of these years. (And I honestly do not know anything he's done since.... don't tell him that part, though. Delicate actor egos and all.)

Congrats RSN and Karol

Who won?

The top 2 players were tied and they'd take turns winning, so finally one guy suggested they chop the pot and split the cash for 1st and 2nd place. He was the 2nd place winner from last year, the other a guy who signed up the day of the tournament. 3rd place was a friend of Leyna's, the co-chairman with Lori.
