back on the Merry Go Round again

For the last 3 weeks my husband has seemed really well. After months of being ill, not eating, losing weight and generally feeling crap he has started to pick up. weight up, eating better but here we are again on the merry go round. His lungs are filling with fluid again and he feels no how.To-morrow he has to go and get his lung tapped again. We know he has a bad heart and there is nothing they can do, even the cardiologist has discharged us, I think they are waiting for him to have another heart attack and good bye Vienna. It is so frustrating because he try's so hard. This is a shitty disease. Sorry for moaning.

I apologize for not knowing the answer to this, but which came first, the bad kidneys or the bad heart?
You are right..this is a shitty disease. Can't put a spin on that.

Billybags. You need this hug!
I wish there were something to do. I'm glad he has been feeling some better, but not that he is going down again.

this stuff is so hard. I really feel for you,( and him of course) as i do know your spot. It hurts
My hubby too just reciently had the 'tap' and seems to be doing well with it but who knows. We'er all in limbo it seems. I will ask.............. because of hemo, we can take extra fluid off during sessions and keep it off a bit easier than with PD. Is that right? Would it be of any benifit to go hemo? We are right now having tests done to see if it's more heart, or kidney that caused that need for the tap. All in all, i feel so bad for where you are with this and can only pray for some answers and healing of sorts for you both. I have needed to vent myself but not had the energy to do so
(looking a bit up now though)

As long as he is trying, then they need to try. Kick some butt next time you are alone with one.

Thanks for your concerns gang, I was really feeling pissed off when I posted yesterday. He went and had his tap this morning and every thing went OK his breathing is a little better and they said it would be an on going problem. They think as we do that it is his heart not pumping enough but they are also testing to see if it is a leak from his peritoneum, heaven forbid because his heart is not strong enough to do hemo. His heart was fine, well we surmised it was, before he started dialysis 3 years ago and since then he has had 2 heart attacks which weakened it.To-day is another day, so I will get on with it.Once again thanks, I know I can come here and moan away.
