Is my bladder shutting down?

It's been 2 weeks now. The strong urges to pee are gone. I was told that I have an atonic bladder.
The fluid take-off at Die-alysis has been in normal range, and there is no fluid build-up in my legs/ lungs.
I felt particularly horrendous this morning. Both kidneys were hurting pretty badly. Urine output was minimal. The "new normal" output resumed later in the day.
Any info would be appreciated.

I hate it when they set the profile on the dialyzer to "Beef Jerky"!

it took 4 years for mine to shut down completely, and, as I've found out recently, they probably haven't totally shut down.. I also don't know what an atonic bladder is either.. perhaps that has something to do with things

Atonic bladder is when the bladder does not have the ablilty to empty itself. Nerve signals from the brain to bladder, diabetes, spinal cord injures, & other factors may produce this condition. (most ikely renal failure) Have you been told you had this pre-D? I "think" that the reason people stop peeing with renal failure has to do with a low blood pressure in, or to the kidneys. From my understanding Atonic bladder can causes things like a UTI (UrinaryTract Infecition) easier. Pain in your kidneys very well may be a sign of that. "IF" if is a UTI, pain in the kidneys (lower back area) usually comes from when the infection has reached into the kidneys. I'm assuming your clinic knows about the pain and am wondering what they say. Do you have a fever, even low grade? I hope you don't have an infection but in my opinon under normal circumstances your kidneys shouldn't hurt. I hope I am wrong here but I want you safe!
