I have been living at my parents house taking care of then until I fell ill with kidney disease. My bro and his girlfriend moved in to help take care of us since I couldn't do it any more do to dialysis. well parents died less than a year from each other. Was told I was going to stay here at my parents house so I could be helped by bros and sister. was told 2 weeks before Christmas 2010 that they decided to sell the house and basically kick me to the street all because of greed. As you know my bros and sister don't understand kidney disease and how I feel. I am on disably right now not getting paid that much and can't afford full rent. in the states they have sec 8 for low income family it is on perm freeze. there are apartments for low income family's but over a year waiting list. My bros and sister have there own houses I have nowhere to go but have to be out of here before Aug 4th. OK the fun begins. They sold the house that I and my bro and his girlfriend live in. Check this out it is so crazy. The couple who bought it want us to be there renters so my bro and his girlfriend are staying here. Why are they staying here now after the house was sold knowing they have to now pay a extra $800.00 a month + bills . and they are not working? And who will have to pay for all of this Me don't think so when my bro gets his share off to the casinos they will go they will be broke in a couple of months. Basically I am a prisoner in this house. I can't use the pots and pans to make my meals can't use the cups glasses plates tolet paper or the bath towells or she will start a fight with me and then go tell bro and he will want to beat me up yes a disabled person so every thin  need except pots and pans I buy everthing else to keep her quite. A little history about brother. He is a control freak. Tells his girlfriend what to do puts her down cusses her out. Does the same to me. Knowing I don't feel good at times. Was rushed to hospital on time from the D center he is contact person they had to call him three times his excuse was I didn't know I was supposed to go to the hospital. I figured it was a female nurse that called him cause he don't take orders from females. and he is very races too.My question is why did the sell the house and staying here when they could just stay here and not have sold it. me and my sw and Psychologist think I am not safe here so they are helping me find a place to live need to do that before rent agreement is made by aug I am not staying here and paying somebody outside the house to stay in a house I was born and raised in. My Bro's girlfriend said they need the
money well gee get off your ass  and get a job. cause they are not sponging off of me and she is not going to get one by hiding in her room with her friends and do drugs. I need out of here bad them two are driving me nuts. sorry so long thanks for the rant   :banghead;

This greed thing gets to me!  My sister just died.  She has a lovely house in an upscale area in Barbados.  She has twin sons.  One has been behind her for years to sell the house and relocate to the US (she is a US citizen), but we all know that they would not be able to take care of her.  Now that she has passed, all he wants is for the house to be sold.  His brother does not want to and has decided that he will get a mortgage on the house and pay out his brother.  The thing is that everyone knows that the next year after the sale, he will not have a cent of the money!
You just hang strong.  My caring thoughts and prayers are with you that everything will work out for you quickly and comfortably.  :cuddle;

What a terrible situation you're in, needlephobic. I do understand families and greed - it's a bad mix.

What state are you in? Some states have protections for people with disabilities; for example, when I left my ex he complained that he could no longer afford the rent (I was the only one with a job). But come to find out that because he was a disabled veteran he could not have been legally evicted. (This was NJ, many years ago.)

I really do hope you find a satisfactory solution to this mess - my fingers are crossed for you and you're in my thoughts.  :cuddle;

Right now I am in the state of confusion  :rofl; I mean Oklahoma.  I don't understand if you want to stay here in this house which is all paid for except the normal bills. Why sell it and have to pay $800.00 for rent. Now he will have to be told what to do in the house we were born  and raised in he don't take orders from nobody going to be intressting when I don't sign the rent or lease agreement crap is going to hit the fan. But hopefully me and my sw can find me a hud home

Not sure How ADA can help me. I need to get out of here before the rental/lease agreement is signed. I am not safe here. They are in there bedroom right now getting high with a friend. If I am still here when the rental/lease agreement is here I am afraid my bro will get physical when I refuse to sign. I really don't want to have both him and his girlfriend in my face. One time just because I left a butter knife  and a cheese slice paper on the kitchen table  he could have asked me to pick it up and discard it nope grabbed me and through me into the wall. Yes already  had kidney disease and was about a week out of the hospital after 3 surgeries. Not a safe place here need a place of my own hoping to get a HUD home with the help of my SW

This is just plane horrable!!!  Discusting and makes me very upset for you.  Yes you do need to get out!  I wish i knew how they DO help you as i had friends who were 'put up' in a safe place and given special rates and very protected due to their having a disability.  If i could only remember who they contacted..  Theres things like they cant move you out (your situation is different but..), special things for service dogs, it's just been so long since i've had contact.  I think those people are mean and should be arrested.  Im so sorry you have this to deal with..

I am a little confused here. How could your brother (I am ignoring his gf for the moment-she shouldn't factor into it) just sell the house? Were you not left equal share from your parents' estate???? If you had equal share, surely he couldn't sell without your OK/signature(and you to get half of the $$$). If not, why would you not have been given equal share of the house?

It sounds intolerable to be in that situation. I wish  I knew what to suggest. Some people are just very selfish at times - yet they moved ino to help you guys out when your parents were alive - you think that was just with the end goal of getting the house? Gee, that's cynical.

Richard my brother would sell his soul to the devil if there was alot of money in it. if he could get away with it he would sell me. with the house there is a family trust and he is in charge of the house to do what ever with it. There is 4 of us kids so what the house will sell for  after closing cost taxes realtor share we slit the rest between us for kids. but if Medicaid and medicare find out I have alto of money they will drop me like a habit. so my SW suggest we find me a HUD home.
