Oh, that is such outstanding news!!!  I am so excited!!  If you could bypass dialysis altogether...wouldn't that be the most wonderful miracle!!!  You tell your b-n-law from MooseMom that he is a hero, and so are you!  Good luck, and PLEASE keep us updated with all of your good news!

congratulations! Best wishes for smooth sailing to your surgery date and beyond.  My sister in law is donating to me this upcoming Tuesday.  It was an unexpected source for me and my wife(her sister), but she is really excited to be helping our family with this wonderful gift.

my donor  is almost all set the only thing he ha left to do is wear a 24hr heart monitor just to be sure all is well. Me next may 11th.. all is looking good so far. I am still in awe that he is doing all this for me, what does one say to this person?? i mean a handshake or a hug seems so insignificant i need to do something more here but i am clueless. i thank him but it seems like nothing for what he is about to do.

I understand but it seems like i should be doing something for him and i just have no idea what to do, buy him some nice steaks?, a weekend vacation for him and his wife?, what are your thoughts on this, is a simple handshake and a thank you enough??.

Buy a nice bottle of champagne for him for now and go out to celebrate about a month post TX. Let him see how healthy and full of life you are.

Believe me, he will be rewarded over and over again for knowing what he has done for you.  :cheer:

Congratulations again.  :2thumbsup;

Woodsan - sorry this happened to you.  I had a donor back out at the last minute, too.  It's Frustrating.  Why come this far only to pull the rug out from under us - right?   Hang in there!!!! You will survive this!!!!!!!
