When hubby was in center the only days they closed were Christmas Day and New Year's Day. They were open six days a week as well.   A couple of times his regular day was changed during Christmas.  During Christmas they would be open on Sunday to accomodate everybody.  Going to be tough to fit everybody in in 3 days!!  He's been on home hemo for the past 3 years so we don't have to worry about any schedule!!

12 patients per bay, six bays and 3 shifts m,w,f and 3 shifts t,t,sat

MWF  (me) go MWSat.  TTSAT goes TT and Sun...both Christmas and New years.  Needles to say some of us may forget.

Hehe.  I meant Needless to say... now that's true freudian.

Normally I'm Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday, 4 PM.

For the holiday weeks I've been switched to Monday/Wednesday/Saturday, same time.

My husbands center has 2 shifts. He goes in 6am. He goes Monday & Friday. This week he does not go back until Sat. A little worried on that as he already doesn't do well in the week but I think 1 day should be ok. Did they give the patients their christmas gifts yet? Our center gave out scarf, gloves in a fleece bag.

That is a great gift! :thumbup; This year my center gaves a child size backpack, witheir logo on it, a renal cookbook and a calander.
Last year I was at a Davita facility, in another state, we were given one of their athletic style bags with a logo blanket ,kidney shapped pillow, headphones. I still use it, take it with me every dialysis session. I am at a Fresenius facility now. So far only minor remarks. In 2007 At the Davita center we got gloves and scarfs.

I am cuurently on T-T-Sat schedule. For Christmas and New Years they are having us come in T-T-Sunday, and the M-W-F people come in M-W-Sat. They have two shifts on T-T-Sat and three on M-W-F. At my former cilinic I was on M-W-F and they were only closed for Christmas day. The people on my schedule came in M-W-Sunday. The T-T-Sat people did not change. They had tree shifts each dialysis day.

Nothing so far, but I have little gifts for the crew and the few patients I sleep with at the center.  :shy; ( Did I say it that way?)

Like most folks here our unit has Christmas Day & New Years Day off - the only two of the year they are allowed.

So my Tues/Thurs/Sat goes Tues/Thurs/Sun for 2 weeks. Not so bad.

On NYE (Thu 31 Dec) I'll be taking some French bubbly in for aprez dialysis drinkies...... :beer1;

My Blokey just sent me a text saying, "I jest you not.  I've currently got a whisky and coke on the go. Xx"  It's 11am and yes, he's at dialysis.  I think I'll have to crack open the vodka ...

I'm not sure that the National Health Service give presents at Christmas, so I'm sure he'll be more than happy with his shot of whisky (although some of your gifts sound fabulous)!  His Friday session has been moved to Saturday for the next two weekends.
