I was scheduled to have my remaining kidney out on Dec 11.  I was having second thoughts about it all and did a great deal of thinking.  I just think I might be better off if they leave this last kidney alone.  I called my surgeon and begged him to take another look at my CT scans.  He called this AM and said that after looking at them, he feels that he can transplant without removing my last kidney!  I don't think he understood why I had issues but he isn't the one that won't be able to pee if this new kidney fails...he won't have to limit fluids and have all the restrictions.  I talked with the Nurse today at dialysis and also to my transplant coordinator and both told me that if I had these concerns that I definately needed to address them.  I was happy with the outcome so...I will be having my transplant on December 9!!!!!

All of you that have had a transplant, can you give me some ideas of what I can expect?  Thanks so much!
