Sometimes PM's appear to be lost or undelivered... here's why:

We are getting quite a few PM's that members have sent as replies to messages they have received. They end up in our admin mailbox as dead letter notifications and cannot be retrieved or resent.

Please note that when you get a message in your email that you have a PM it will look like this:
Quote
From: I Hate Dialysis Message Board <admin@ihatedialysis.com>
To: xoxoxo@yahoo.com
Sent: Tue, October 31, 2009 8:05:00 PM
Subject: New Personal Message: (No subject)

You have just been sent a personal message by okarol on I Hate Dialysis Message Board.

IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email.

The message they sent you was:

Hi --  how are you and your husband doing? I can get you more information about the transplant hospital we used if you'd like. Hope things are better now!
Take care!

Reply to this Personal Message here: http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;f=inbox;pmsg=000000;quote;u=00000

You must NOT reply to the email or it will come to admin@ihatedialysis.com. As it says "IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email." You are given a link and must follow it to reply "Reply to this Personal Message here:" and then you compose your message in the PM mail area.

So if you're wondering why someone is ignoring you, or never got your note, or didn't respond to a question, this is probably why. Each month we get several undeliverable items, so double check before you send something out!

REMINDER:

Sometimes PM's may seem to be lost or undelivered... so if you're waiting to hear from someone you replied to, it may never happen, here's why:

There were 4 more undeliverable PM's in the admin mailbox from the past week, so if you sent something and never heard back from the recipient - you may have replied directly to the email alert and your PM never went through.

I have gotten 3 undeliverable PM's that never made it to the intended recipients, so if you haven't heard from someone you wrote to, be sure you clicked the link in the email alert - and did NOT reply to the email - because it is not deliverable that way!
