Had a clinic with my specialist (neph) yesterday and got the go ahead to start PD training. He has to arrange for my catheter first. Quite excited and can't wait to get off hemo.

1993 diagnosed with glomerulonephritis.
Oct 41, 2007 - Got fistula placed.
Feb 13, 2008 - Activated on "the list".
Nov 5, 2008 - Received living donor transplant from my sister-in-law, Etta.
Nov 5, 2011 - THREE YEARS POST TRANSPLANT!  :D

i LOVE pd. You will love your freedom! I know i do, and get ready to eat some tomatos, potatos, fries, and oranges. PD makes your potassium low.

Huzzah!  That's fabulous!  My Blokey recently saw the surgeon and has been pencilled in to have his PD catheter put in in about three weeks.  He's very excited too because he HATES hemo with a passion!

Tons better then Hemo!  I have done both and I can't understand why anyone wouldn't do PD if they are able.
