hi there i have a question on crea mine last month is 17.96 then now is 16.23 iam 2x a week dialysis, 300 to 350 Blood Pump 4 hrs, why still high my creatinine?

My opinion is you need more dialysis. My husband was on 3x a week for 3 hrs 30 minutes and his creatinine was too high. Had to change to 3 x per week 4 hrs 15 mins each time and he was fine.

My renal team have told me they don't really care what my creatinine levels are now that I'm on dialysis. They always expect them to be high.

Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma.
By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008. Now on PD with a cycler. Working very part time - teaching music. Love it. Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

The PD seems not to remove much creatinine, so creatinine levels are always high for PD patients.

Dialysis doesn't replace normal kidney function, it just keeps us alive, so what you need to look at is your potassium and phosphorus levels.
