Hi all just back from my treatment a short time ago, didn't go so well for some reason I got very sick and needed oxygen, phenergan. Man I felt so bad was sure I was going to meet my maker. Once the treatment was done I felt okay. Anyone have any idea what happened to me this treatment? I only been on the big D for one year.My dialyser was not a new one. :thx;

Not sure what your conditions were...the last time I felt like that during treatment it was because my bp tanked and they said it was because they were pulling off too much fluid.

I am allergic to ETO in the lines and I flush through with two bags of saline before I get on the machine.  I had to have oxygen six weeks after I started and we also had not changed anything at all.  I hadn't run the second bag through fully though and the level of ETO in the lines must have been a little higher than normal and it just tipped me over the edge.  I tossed my blood and felt fine when I was off the machine.  It was a one off thing.  Fortunately it has never happened again.  You may have a very slight allergic reaction to ETO.  Make sure you put the whole bag of saline through your lines before you hook up and I am sure you will find it wont happen again.

I used to feel that way but the longer I was on dialysis the less it happened --
I think it will be that way with you
sorry you had a bad day
things will get better
a year is not a long time to be on dialysis
