Well thankfully its finally starting to cool down here in hawaii tonight..

but its been in the high 80's into the low 90's - its been unbearable! the worst thing is that we had a freakishly cold winter/wet season it was like we were on the mainland or something! Now our summer is SO hot! this heat needs to go back where it belongs CA  :P

Although since we have a family member who is a firefighter and fights the wild fires that hit CA in the summers, i guess it might help out that CA isn't as ridiculously hot as normal! :)

I envy you people who have four seasons.  In Houston, we have 3 weeks of winter and 49 weeks of summer.
Lucky you, in the UK with the possible exception of this summer we get exactly the reverse of that!

It will be about 87 here today in Florida, but will feel like 100!!!, my husband was coping with the heat better when he was anemic, now we keep the central air on, and the blinds closed to keep out the sun.

I hear you, Tee. This time last year my husband was wearing a jacket in this kind of weather.

I never expected such heat this early in the year.  I wish I had planted tomatoes.  Usually I do but this time I had an unexpect routine addition to my schedule (the evil chair).

Last week my line tree withered away and this morning I see my little Laurel tree has dried up.  (Wonder if I can pic the leaves off and use them like that  ?  After all you buy dried bay leaves in the store.

That's sad about your plants, Dan. I'm having to water more frequently with this unusual heat.

Now it's the water bill to worry about, huh?

Water is cheap here   ... usually.  Its just that ssince starting in the torture chamber the heat just knows me out... literally.  This too shall pass, right?

My pool is 93. I just checked it. There are afternoon thunderstorms all around us, but none here. We need it. I know you do, too.

92 F outside right now - high of 97. The AC's not working so well, and can't keep it below 80 in here. Thank goodness for residual kidney function and cold drinks.

Still better than the 101 it was when I was in Vegas yesterday.

It's a tad warm here in Southern Ca. We have to keep the blinds closed to keep the heat out and the AC runs a whole lot. Feel like I am confined to a cave. There goes my summer afternoons with a good book, sitting on the porch. The pool looks gorgeous, but it is completely in the sun, and I need to stay out of the sun. Sigh.

Please, please send some of that heat our way! Cold and wet today like it's been all of June here in New England - we set a record for smallest amount of sunlight this month.
