I pee like 3 drops a day if i'm lucky...
And at 22, I'm called the baby at my old clinic..but I'm back at my original clinic with people closer to my age now!

One more good thing.  Not long ago kidney failure was a death sentence. Hard times. Limited water.  Limited food. Hours spent on the machine. Still we all can celebrate the fact that dialysis keeps us alive.  Every day is gift. A gift we earn with hard work and tough unpleasant times, but a gift none the less.

As I no longer pee any more I now have immunity from my wife's rants about not putting the toilet seat down or the suspicious dribbles on the floor, the grandchildren now take the rap.

It is nice not to have frequent trips to bathroom in middle of the night! But lately I have started having to get up once, even twice but I do take 40 mg of Lasix now. Nothing special going on with the kidneys.  On my last 24 hour urine draw the doctory said I produced quite a bit but blood was not being filtered.  He said it was almost clean enough to drink. I told him fine by me but you go first!

Ok so the one good thing about being a dialysis/ESRD patient - when you are seeing the new STAR TREK movie (awesome btw) you dont have to get up half way through to run to the bathroom and almost knock over someone because they are just standing in the door way. and then run back and make sure that you didn't miss anything important. :P

ok so yes Richie and I are Trekies - we loved the movie - and yes I did apologizes to the woman I almost knocked over. Sometimes I wish I could just turn my kidneys off for an hour or so. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my kidneys just wish I could sit through a whole movie (in theaters)!

No transplant.  Not yet, anyway.  Only decided to be listed on 11/9/06. Inactive at the moment.  ;)

Treatment: Tue-Thur-Sat   5.5 hours, 2x/wk, 6 hours, 1x/wk
Dialysate flow (Qd)=600;  Blood pump speed(Qb)=315
Fresenius Optiflux-180 filter--without reuse
Fresenius 2008T dialysis machine
My KDOQI Nutrition (+/ -):  2,450 Calories, 84 grams Protein/day.

Good one Dan! Yes, Sunday is my day of rest too.. although I do try and get out every week and go for a long walk and get some exercise happening.. not so much fun now that it's getting colder down here. Oh well I shall just think about the girls of IHD and that will keep me warm !  :rofl;

All I have to do to get warm is walk out the door.  It's hot here already.  I've tried walking but I get sweaty and worry about the cath getting wet.  7 more weeks I hope.
