I need to cook something tonight.  The crew at the long, slow death watch for my friend who has finally called it quits on his battle with cancer have put in an order for anything homemade and sweet.  So far, I've done chocolate covered strawberries and no bake fudge cookies.  I'm making shortbread or scones next.  I need to cook some real dinner, too, or I'll end up picking at junk all night!

I've got burger, sauce and whole wheat penne, so I think that's going to be dinner.

my husband ate pizza with his tennis team and Allen is eating at church at the dinner for the youth -

The chicken turned out really good. *smile*  I was pretty proud of it myself, and my little brother told me I could give my dad a run for the best chicken. And that is really cool!  My dad all my life has had the chicken that everyone loves and talks about. So I am super  happy this morning.

Yeah I found that picture on my computer it was taken about 3 years ago.  I like it.  It is one of the only ones I have with me and both my kids.  Haha.

I'm making a  lobster salad appetizer (cold cooked lobster diced up, small amount of low fat sour cream, lemon zest, fresh dill, tiny bit of fresh basil, freshly ground black pepper) that I'll plate alongside a fresh tomato and greens salad dressed with a tarragon vinaigrette.  Usually we eat our salad at the end of our meal (very helpful for the digestion and also good to fill up in a healthy way and therefore cut back or skip dessert altogether) but tonight I'm starting with this salad appetizer as the flavours are much more delicate than the soup.

Next, some homemade spicy split pea/smoked turkey soup with toasted nine-grain walnut bread.

Dessert will be lime sherbet for Lee and yogurt mixed with applesauce for me.

I'm not on a diet at all.  At my center today my dietician and a lot of other people were passing out food samples (I thought I was in Central Market).  One guy made some delicious sausage... I got the recipe but I'm sure its too hard.

I like Central Market...  especially on Saturday when they have the Jazz combo on the patio.  And the freebie samples aren't bad either.

I need to know some high phos. foods!  She told me peanut butter and cheese but I'm a little tired of it.

Beans are high in phos, so split pea soup, blackeyed peas stew, man I love my beans.   Whole grains also, so a nice multigrain bread with nuts and seeds to go along with the beans.
