I was thinking about things I like here that I don't see anywhere else.

I thought I would start a thread .. umm.. but not sure if this should go in off-topic or COMMENTS.

  • Anyway, what I like about here is that you can see who is looking at the same thread as you (angieskidney and 2 Guests are viewing this board)
  • I really like the spell checker! It might not be perfect but I find it REALLY helps me since I am dyslexic
  • I like how every day you KNOW there will be more new posts where as other forums are dead literally for months!!

Add to the list?

(if this is in the wrong place, please move this. Sorry if it is!)

Well, I can't honestly say that I have really made any friends here but I have made a few friendly acquaintances here.  I find it much easier to find answers to questions here then anywhere else because of the high level of activity from this forums experienced members.  I too enjoy the jokes, recipes and tips that I find here but I find that I am restricted toward my contrabutions to them.  Not because I am unable to ( well, sometimes I am ) but mostly because I am not a patient or a full time caregiver so I don't yet know what I can contribute to or add to.  But I am learning  I too would have to thank epoman for allowing me, and everone else here, a place in which to share in all the experiences and wisdom that this sites members have come to offer.

Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« Reply #5 on: September 05, 2006, 04:19:41 PM »

Goofynina did sum it up.  What I like is that we have become a real community (with all the strengths, weaknesses, ups and downs of a community).  I cannot see a computer without checking out IHD. Right now I am at the Community College where I teach French two evenings a week.  My class is over and this classroom has a SmartBoard.  So I am seeing IHD on a big whiteboard!  Wouldn't like anyone to walk into this classroom right now!
[By the way, a Smartboard is absolutely super!]

Goofynina has summed it up about right for me too, I love how it is so easy to use even if you really don't know computers very well and I couldn't do without the spell checker.

I think with Epoman being so "strict" with his rules has helped make this place what it is and that is a very neat and easy to read.  Thanks again Epoman... you really know what your doing dont'cha... EXCELLENT JOB

Going through life tied to a chair!

« Reply #9 on: September 05, 2006, 07:42:56 PM »

This is the one and only board I've been an "active" member on.  I've signed up for other boards but rarely go to them.  I just know someone will always be on this one.

Being a Mod is hard because there is SO much to keep up with.  I was gone for a few days and can't catch up.   :(

The ease that this site is to navigate.  It was very easy from the first time to now to find things and to know where to go.  The search makes it easy to find old threads.

You don't have to be a mod to find that sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with some of the threads here.  I love how active this place is and your bound to get a reply fast.

I get the chance to get online and this is the first place I go. Mostly because I know there will be something new to read.
A nice active site is a lot of fun.

Another really cool thing about this site is the array of different topics in which to read... somedays you feel like crap or somedays you feel good, but no matter what your feeling like, there is a thread or subject that atrracts you that particular day.

I love that this site is so active, it's very fun to read.  I love that there are so many people who post, people of all ages and from all over the world.  I love that there are all types of people, and people who are at all stages of ESRD, patients, caregivers, supporters; so there's always someone with an answer to any question.

I love it that's there's stuff that isn't related to ESRD, because sometimes I've had enough of that and I want to think about something else.  I love the recipes and the jokes, and I'd probably love the games, but I'm not that good at computer games.

I love all of your pictures, too.  I'm probably going to post mine, but, trust me, I'm on so much prednisone that if you just picture a face that's all cheeks, that's me!

I just love this site!  Thanks, Epoman!

You don't have to worry about feeling self conscious about the way you look here.  You are among friendly folks who have been though, are going through or have seen friends or loved ones go through what you are facing now.  No one is going to make fun of your appearance here.

Thanks, all of you, and I did post my picture.  I'll get a more recent one, but I look pretty much the same, but just with even bigger cheeks!
