Hi there.  I just had a transplant (my second one, the first was cadaveric and lasted 23 years) on Feb. 23 rd. My donor was my brother's wife.  You can follow our journey here.  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/gailwhiteside

You can also go to the Transplant Stories section on the Home page of this site.

Welcome.  Although it's purely a personal decision, I for one am not sorry I transplanted in the least (Nov. 5, 2008).  I've adjusted to the meds well and my doctor couldn't be happier with my progress.  I'm hating the weight gain due to steroids, but 80% of that was totally my fault and could have been better controlled by me.

Being on the list is a good thing.  Read as much as you can on this site, as well as others.  Being informed is the key.  You'll learn alot here!  I look forward to learning more about you.
