So I gathered from Angie's list that salmon and cod are both high in potassium.  What alternative fish would be good to serve regularly?

It really depends on where fish is from and what specific breed and whether freshwater or saltwater.

Like Alantic cod is low in potassium while Pacific cod is high in potassium for the same portion.

Personally I do not eat fish. :P

Something that can help out alot in this area is a book called:

Bowes & Church's Food Values of Portions of Commonly Used by  Jean A.T. Pennington.

It has lots of different listings of just about everytype of food whether its name brand or fast food.

List Protein, Potassium, Phosphorus, Sodium vitamins and minerals, etc. etc.

Halibut the halibut? I know .. bad pun :P (How about the Halibut?)

Supposedly that is low in Potassium compared to other fish. Well, .. 456 Potassium .. don't know how low that is ...

See this recipe.

I attached it ... oh the 2nd fish one is better though!

Recipes look good, Angie.  Thanks for the suggestions, and you too BigSky.  I read in an article that catfish is lower in phosphorus, which is a pretty easy choice for us since there's so much catfish available around here.  Halibut is good, but I think it may be more expensive (haven't bought it in a while).  I will use that as a good alternative I think.   :)

But with fish sticks you have to be careful about added Phosphate in the breading. :( (But I LOVE those! lol)

I also really love Halabut! I would even say it is my favourite ;)

Almost none of the fish we eat regularly in the Caribbean are on that list.  Do you guys know about Tilapia? Flying Fish? Mahi mahi? Albacore? Shark? Jacks?

MMMMMM fried catfish right out of the Lake Nickajack, with hushpuppies and coleslaw.  Yummy. When I lived in the south as a teenager we would drive around and see the sights and go fishing along the lake. Then we would stop as this little hole int he wall restaurant.  It has about ten seats in it total and order up the catfish plate.  Oh Geez what an amount of food to eat.  I miss fried catfish and hushpuppies made the southern way.

Popeyes is not the same. We have Popeyes too, and Long John Silvers, but it is just not the same.  A real southern cook can make catfish sing!

I dont even know if anywhere sells catfish here. All I know about them is they look horrible and they live in our murky rivers. Im pretty sure my other half said if they catch a catfish while fishing they throw them back.

The farm bred catfish are what is used in most kitchens now days. I know they are ugly fish.  Just looking at them makes me wonder what on earth was the creator thinking when that got through the inspection process?  Tasty meat though from the farm bred catfish though.

Over here I think things like snapper, barramundi, and perch are common in restaurants. My other half went deep sea fishing for his birthday this year and they cooked the fish up (whole) on the BBQ with garlic butter, onion, salt and pepper, and it was the most beautiful fish I have ever tasted. Pity they werent sure what type it was!

The jack that we have is a relatively small fish.  It isn't a tuna.  They are only about 6 inches long and they taste great!

Couldn't find anything on the jacks you are talking about.  Seems there are several different varities of that fish yet none are listed in my book.  Sorry.
