what is your supper bowl menu
( not that you will eat it - but what will you serve or be served)
I made these foods but will not eat hardly any of them
my  >:D foods will be any fresh fruit served and ice tea and the  :bandance; pudding

green chilies casserole
King Ranch casserole
sausage balls
fudge
:bandance;  pudding with meringue -- cooked the old fashion way  - requested by several people
Mexican wedding cookies
choc chip cookies
fresh fruit
fresh veg
pickled okra
ranch dip

I made a favorite recipe of my family members - they got to pick one for me to make

one person is making hamburgers on the grill to go with all of this - don't ask how it goes - she is always difficult- but hamburgers are good

Bubba's favorite is beef stew but he is staying at college for the super bowl

When we first moved into this house we inherited a tradition of the four corner houses alternating the hosting of a Grey Cup party (Canadian football final, sort of Canadian Super Bowl).

I used to make:
Curried Squash soup or some other soup (I love making soup)
Roasted Red Pepper Humous Dip
Roasted Eggplant with Tahini Dip (Baba Ghanouj)
Guacamole
Pickled mushrooms
Homemade Pita crisps for dips
Crostini (french bread slices rubbed with garlic infused olive oil and dried out super crisp in a slow oven) with Bruschetta topping (diced fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil, parmesan) or goat cheese topping.
Appetizer sized Beef and Chicken satays (grilled and served with a peanut sauce)
Chicken Pot Pie  (one big one with no bottom crust, just a puff pastry top crust)
Big Green Salad with bowls of chopped veggies to add as people liked (radishes, red peppers, cucumber, fresh tomatoes, green onions)
Others brought desserts, although I usually made one, a Trifle being my favorite to make because it likes to be done ahead of time.
One person also always made savoury shortbreads with cheddar cheese and rice krispies in them.  I made them a couple of times but they never turned out like hers.

I would serve things in stages.

Dips, satays and pickles would be on the coffee table downstairs.
Then I'd serve small bowls of soup
At half time we'd move away from the television for the main course of Chicken Pot Pie and salad
Then dessert back in front of the game.

Yup that could be all you need.  You said your husband dosn't like onion or garlic right?

I use 1 block of cream cheese (let get to room temp)
about 1 cup of finly choped green chili
1/3 cup finely diced onion
a pinch of garlic
a pinch of salt (if not for you)

mix in bowl, spred on tortilla, rool and cut!

Its so easy  :2thumbsup;

I'm going to make Prime Rib tacos, to be eaten after half time.
With sour cream and cilantro/white onion/corn tortillas/ salzarays' salsa/ Mexican rice for carbs.

First off:  south american  coffee with a punch of kaluha....*cheers to you Flip*
Prepare prime rib for a long slow roast.  You're gonna be tacos     :secret; hunka hunka protein :secret;
Day long munchies:  veggies with various dips/crackers and cheese/grilled brats/mustards
*check bookie odds*
Watch Super Bowl commercials and critique

Anticipating a good game!
