Has anyone got any information on rash from possibly medication or could it be something prior to dialysis?

I'm not sure, but that was always one of my nephrologist's questions when I would see him prior to transplant.  "Any rashes?"  I never had one, so I'm not sure why he asked.  Good luck!  Rashes can be so annoying!  Hang in there!

Yeah I have had a few from meds.  Tell your doc about it and let him/her look at it.  They might need to change your meds.

Umm try a few things, and oatmeal bath works wonders.  A hydrocodone cream will help sometimes, they also sell a benadryl cream.  It might not be your meds, it could be something as simple as a shirt you tryed on at a store.  Have  you changed soap of any kind latley? Laudry, shapmoo, body wash?  Try a new lotion?  I have to be really careful I brake out so easy.  But yeah try one of the creams for sure.  They might at least help with the itching.

Oh yes have it all figured out now.
Tide with no fresh smells or downy in it.  Just plain old tide.
And only certain bath soaps as well.
Plain dove or Irish spring(original)

Maybe don't try a hydrocodone cream - hydrocodone is the opioid in Vicodin. ;) I think you meant hydrocortisone.

But it could be a lot of things causing the rash. Some time before I went on dialysis, I had pretty bad skin itching (no rash, just itching). I bought some hydrocortisone cream and put it on, and something in it actually gave me a rash. I had to switch to hydrocortisone ointment (the semi-clear greasy stuff) to treat the rash from the hydrocortison cream.  ???

Haha I totally missed that  :yahoo;

But try stuff out intill you find what works for you.  It might be bacterial (sp) in that case try using some Tee Tree oil, you can find that in health food stores.  It kinda helps cure everything.
