Yummy. Get the stinkiest road kill possible.  Texas Armadillo or skunk!
I have barbecued pie before.  Cupcakes could be much harder to do.

We had 18 for dinner.  That is just our immediate family.  My husband and I, kids and spouses and grandkids.   Everyone brought dishes.  Let's see if I can remember---

Me: Roasted turkey and stuffing
      Mashed potatoes
Sweet potato souffle--not sweet potato casserole, but does have brown sugar in it.
      Cranberry sauce
      Frosted fruit salad
      Lime Jello salad
Pumpkin roll (filled with cream cheese frosting)

My son Todd:  Smoked turkey (yummy) (he smokes everything)
                     Appetizer and crackers
                     Cranberry orange relish
                     Homemade yeast rolls
                     Pumpkin pies
                     Caramel apple cheesecake

Daughter Melissa and soon to be fiance:  Baked ham
                                                         Green bean casserole
                                                         Black cherry jello

Son Adam and his new wife:  Appetizer
                                         Corn
                                         Brownies         Just don't ask!

And AlohaBeth made cheescake with chocolate gnash and fresh raspberries.

It was a nice meal and the first time we were able to meet Melissa's boyfriend's two daughters.  I was exhausted when everyone left, but was grateful for a full house and many blessings.    Christmas will be a little simpler!

I had 18 family members.

My husband and I prepared and paid for everything as we always do for the last 19 years.  The menu consist of:

22lb Whole Turkey (roast) + 1 breast turkey (grilled)
Sweet Potatoes Casserole
Collard Greens
Green Beans
My famous Mac&Cheese
Cream Potatoes
My famous gravy
Stuffing
Stewed Yellow Squash
Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings
Pound Cake
Cranberry Salad

By the end of the night, there were no left-overs because they took them all home.  I don't mind because I really don't need the tempations.  It was a lot of hard work as usual.  Thank God this is the last year I'm doing Thanksgiving or Christmas.

mmm yummy...thanks
Crescent rolls are rolls that come packaged in round cardboard containers that pop open...refrigerator section.  I generally just use piecrust dough for things like this if I have any.

Crescent Rolls are made by Pillsbury. Similar to a croissant, but its rolled up in a can and you have to bake it.  Here's a link for several different recipes for crescent rolls.
http://www.pillsbury.com/products/rolls/Refrigerated/Crescents.htm

As for the butter, our grocery stores sale them 4 sticks in a box.  1 stick of butter is equal to 1/2 cup.

Will double check the supermarket but I'm pretty sure we don't have crescent rolls up here in the top end
Might use puff pastry

That should work.  You can even do what G-Ma said about pie crust.  As long as you have something doughy to wrap the apples in.  Let me know how it turns out.  My family really loved it with vanilla ice cream.  I'm going to make it again for Christmas.
